Run Silent, Run Deep released in 1958 is a war movie, which has many battles and more excellent characters in a war story surrounding it.
Run Silent, Run Deep features Clark Gable as an older and vital character and younger, and very experienced, Burt Lancaster. (Clark Gable is only twelve years elder than Lancaster) but both are at the top of their games here and their interaction brings great drama all through. The picture is put on a submarine during the World War II with Gable in performance of an Ahab-like leader or commander who is hell bent on sinking a Japanese ship.
