Carol Channing - An African American Actress

Carol Channing the African American actress was born in Seattle, Washington on January 31, 1921. She is a renowned icon of musical theatre. She with her husband Harry Kullijian have established an educational scholarship for Sacramento State's performing arts students in the last year called the Dr. Carol Channing and Harry Kullijian Endowment for Arts Education.

This scholarship is to inspire all the veterans to return home and obtain a college education and it has definitely increased the support services and helped the Nation. Since then, there are more than 1000 eligible students who have enrolled to the college.

There is an event organized which includes reception, dinner and dancing. This event is also an opportunity for all the Sacramento State to celebrate the University's success in the previous year. This prestigious event is called The Green and gold gala by News 10's Cristina Mendosa and KFBK's Kitty O'Neal, both Sacramento State Alums.

To her divine dedication towards art ad music Carol Channing will be the guest of honor at Sacramento State's 4th Green and gold Gala on the February 20, 2009 in the University Union Ballroom.
