Reba McEntire Busy at ACM Awards

Reba McEntire was very busy at the ACM Awards on Sunday April 5 2009. She was Hosting the show in Las Vegas for the 11th time. She began the show with a few zingers — somehow finding a way to make Michael Phelps’ legal troubles relevant to a country music audience.

“Seems like everyone wants to cut a country album nowadays. Even Michael Phelps and Willie Nelson are teaming up to do an album. They’re covering the Doobie Brothers!” said the host and also made her debut of her new single, “Strange.”

The tune takes aim at a bad breakup, but this breakup doesn’t feel like the rest. McEntire’s voice is as powerful and distinctive as ever on this one, and the rock ‘n’ roll feel is hard to miss. If you didn’t catch the ACM performance, listen to “Strange” exclusively on CMT.com for a limited time.
